Diamonds fascinate: King of Gemstones
Diamonds fascinate and inspire people for a variety of reasons, from their rarity and hardness to their timeless beauty. Here are some reasons why diamonds are considered special gemstones:
- Hardness and durability: Diamonds are the hardest known material on earth. This exceptional hardness gives diamonds resistance to scratches and wear and tear in everyday use.
Hardest material on earth (Mohs scale 10) - Unique radiance: The ability of diamonds to refract and reflect light gives them an impressive sparkle and glitter. This shine, also known as brilliance, makes diamonds an eye-catching gemstone.
Optically isotropic with high light refraction and high dispersion - Symbol of love and eternity: Diamonds are often a symbol of love and eternal commitment, especially in engagement and wedding rings. The hardness of the diamond is often used as a metaphor for the unbreakability of love.
- Versatility: Diamonds are available in different colors and shapes. Colorless diamonds are often considered particularly valuable, but fancy color diamonds, which come in different colors, also have their own appeal.

GWD History & Origin
Today, technological progress makes it possible to produce “real” diamonds in the laboratory. This gave me the opportunity to purchase a larger, better quality diamond for myself that I would never have been able to afford otherwise. The fact that the diamonds from the laboratory are more ethical, social and environmentally friendly convinced me even more.
The feeling of happiness when I was able to look at my lab diamond for the first time was the initial spark for my start-up. It was stunningly beautiful, sparkling and glistening like crazy and shining in all the colors of the rainbow. It almost blew me away and I was overjoyed when independent goldsmiths and gemologists also confirmed to me that this was a “fantastic quality diamond”.
Thanks to my grandfather who had a PhD in chemistry and was a researcher and developer, I have had a flair for science, chemistry and physics since childhood. This helped me understand very quickly what all real diamonds are made of (crystallized carbon), what atomic lattice structure they have (cubic) and that High-Quality Lab Grown Diamonds are chemically, physically and optically identical to mine diamonds. It also helps me to understand the different procedures, methods and processes.
I want to give people access to diamonds (white & fancy color) that meet ESG criteria and can be had at massively lower prices.
As a perfectionist, I want to be able to consistently 1) Sustainability & ESG (diamonds, jewellery production, wooden jewellery boxes, cardboard packaging, etc.) and 2) Provide top quality (diamonds & jewelry).
With Green World Diamonds we produce quality jewellery of the highest standard. We deliberately produce in Switzerland in our goldsmith’s studio. We have the latest technologies (CAD) and our own stone setters to offer our customers the perfect jewelry.
